Income Officer – Housing Association (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Income Officer will work for a housing association in Warrington, focusing on maximising rental income and reducing arrears. This is an ongoing interim contract, offering a full‑time, hourly‑rate position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of rent accounts, monitor arrears performance and take action to maximise income.
• Conduct income and expenditure assessments, agree repayment plans and refer customers to support services.
• Progress arrears cases in line with policy, preparing legal documentation and enforcement action where necessary.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, including Housing Benefit and DWP services, to support tenancy sustainment and income recovery.
• Maintain accurate records on housing management systems through telephone calls, written correspondence and home visits.

Required profile

• Previous experience in income management, rent recovery or housing management.
• Knowledge of arrears recovery processes, welfare benefits and tenancy enforcement.
• Experience managing a caseload and meeting performance targets.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills, especially when engaging vulnerable tenants.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).
