Intercity Bus and Coach Driver in Fort William

About the role

Ember, the UK’s first fully‑electric, zero‑emission coach company, is expanding to Fort William. We are looking for professional drivers who are passionate about electric vehicles and delivering excellent customer service. Various start dates are available from May 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Operate state‑of‑the‑art electric coaches safely and efficiently on intercity routes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for passengers, assisting with luggage, answering queries, and ensuring a friendly boarding experience.
• Maintain the interior of the coach throughout the day, performing light cleaning duties to keep it spick‑and‑span.
• Utilise new technology systems on board to enhance the passenger experience.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve operations and resolve day‑to‑day challenges.

Required profile

• Full PCV licence – Category D minimum.
• Up‑to‑date CPC and a digital tachograph card (or ability to obtain them quickly).
• Demonstrated high‑quality driving with smooth braking and a strong safety focus.
• Flexibility to work early, late or night shifts on any day of the week.

What we offer

• Starting rate of £16.50 per hour, rising to £17.30 after one year and up to £17.90 as an Ember Ambassador.
• Relief contracts at £18.49 per hour and overtime rates from £19.80 per hour.
