Interim Sales Ledger Clerk – 3 Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading retail business in London, is seeking an interim Sales Ledger Clerk for a three‑month assignment. The role is full‑time and will support the finance team by managing the end‑to‑end accounts receivable function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable for approximately 300 customer accounts.
• Raise and process 5‑10 complex multi‑site invoices each month, including multi‑currency (primarily Euro) invoices.
• Perform daily reconciliations of customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Allocate bank payments and match receipts to outstanding invoices promptly.
• Maintain an accurate sales ledger, ensuring all accounts are up‑to‑date and fully reconciled.
• Monitor aged debt, chase overdue payments via professional email communication, and support cash‑flow health.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice queries and minimise payment delays.
• Assist month‑end reporting by ensuring all receivable transactions are correctly recorded.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years experience in accounts receivable or sales ledger administration.
• Ability to start immediately or within one week’s notice.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written communication skills for customer correspondence.
