Junior Category Manager – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

Toolstation is seeking a Junior Category Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to support the commercial team. You will help shape product category strategies, drive sales growth and build strong relationships with stores and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer and market trends to understand category performance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance and service quality.
• Prepare accurate commercial plans aligned with business objectives.
• Review promotional activity and implement improvements to margin performance.

Required profile

• Current experience in a buying or commercial team, looking to step up.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and commercial mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for working with suppliers, stores and sales teams.
• Passion for securing the best deals for customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google or Microsoft spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel).
• Experience using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Analytical ability to monitor sales and profit results.
• Numeracy for managing costs and budgets.
