About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join the opening team at The Wordsworth Inn in Grasmere. You will support the kitchen crew by keeping the work area clean, maintaining high food‑hygiene standards and helping with simple food preparation. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a fast‑paced hospitality environment and wants to grow within an award‑winning pub group.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the wash‑up area and ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned to hygiene standards.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks as required.
• Follow the daily cleaning schedule and perform general kitchen duties.
• Support the team by restocking supplies and keeping workstations tidy.
• Adhere to health and safety and personal presentation guidelines.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a busy kitchen.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• Commitment to personal presentation and hygiene.
