Lead Recurring Giving Specialist – Fundraising

About the role

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Lead Recurring Giving Specialist to own and expand its recurring donor program. You will drive retention, upgrades, reactivations, and overall lifetime value of monthly and annual supporters while collaborating closely with the acquisition team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to grow the sustainer base, improve retention, and reduce attrition.
• Design upgrade and cross‑sell pathways based on donor lifetime value, giving history, and engagement behavior.
• Create and optimise end‑to‑end donor journeys covering onboarding, retention, upgrade, reactivation and win‑back.
• Lead dunning processes, payment retries, recovery campaigns and self‑service donation tools.
• Manage campaign implementation, data segmentation, KPI monitoring, reporting and budget oversight.
• Partner with data, audience strategy and other fundraising teams to align initiatives and inform decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and analysing recurring donor programs.
• Data‑driven mindset with a strong test‑and‑learn approach.
• Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies across multiple channels (email, direct mail, SMS, on‑platform messaging).
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a nonprofit environment.
