Learning Support Assistant – College (Full‑Time, Tonbridge)

About the role

This full‑time, temporary position supports learners at a college in Tonbridge. You will work both in classroom settings and outdoors, helping students achieve confidence and progress in their studies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance across a range of college courses.
• Support learners with Maths and English to improve academic performance.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure full curriculum access.
• Assist students during practical outdoor sessions, including agricultural and land‑based activities.
• Encourage independence, engagement and positive learning behaviours.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Strong Maths and English abilities.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Patient, adaptable and enthusiastic with excellent communication.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Experience with additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
