Lift & Crane Engineer Surveyor (Sutton Coldfield)

About the role

Zurich Engineering is expanding its field‑based Engineer Surveyor team in Sutton Coldfield. The role focuses on lift and crane inspections, allowing you to manage your own diary, travel to client sites and develop strong relationships while representing the company.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out statutory inspections of lifts, cranes and related mechanical equipment.
• Provide expert engineering opinions to ensure client compliance with legislation and industry standards.
• Record findings on a rugged laptop and issue electronic reports to clients.
• Maintain a client base within a reasonable travelling distance from your home office.

Required profile

• Experienced engineer with a solid grounding in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
• Level 4 (HND/HNC) qualification preferred; Level 3 minimum – training will be provided.
• Hands‑on experience with lifts and/or crane equipment is advantageous.
• Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to work paid overtime.

Required skills

• Statutory inspection techniques for lifts and cranes.
• Mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Proficiency with IT reporting tools and high literacy.
