About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic graduates to join an outstanding school in Havering as a Literacy Tutor. You will support pupils across primary and secondary settings, helping them improve reading, writing and overall communication confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group support for students who need additional help with literacy, including those with EAL.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to ensure pupils can access learning, improve attainment and build confidence in the classroom.
Required profile
- First‑Class or 2:1 degree in English, Humanities, Modern Languages or a related subject from a leading UK university.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
Required skills
- Previous tutoring, mentoring, teaching or child‑centred experience.
- TEFL qualification or experience working with EAL learners (desirable but not essential).
