Management Accountant

About the role

Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a growing organisation to hire an experienced Group Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will own the month‑end process, support the wider finance function and help develop the team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts through to review stage.
• Complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and post journals, including accruals, pre‑payments and loan adjustments.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and handle fixed‑asset accounting.
• Produce month‑end reports with detailed variance analysis.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers.
• Assist with cost‑centre reviews, budgeting and budgetary controls.
• Support external audits and respond to auditor queries.
• Act as a liaison between senior finance stakeholders and the finance team.

Required profile

• AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA PQ or QBE.
• Previous experience in a medium to large organisation, at Assistant Management Accountant level or above.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas).
• Strong systems knowledge and quick adaptability to new software.
