Mandarin Speaking Vice President Accounting – Banking

About the role

This senior position leads the accounting function for a banking organisation in London. The role requires native‑level Mandarin and English, and will report directly to the Deputy Head of Financial Management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of seven accountants, providing coaching, development and performance management.
• Ensure all accounting treatments comply with IFRS, regulatory requirements and Head Office policies.
• Review and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial and regulatory reports to Head Office and external stakeholders.
• Strengthen the financial control framework across the accounting function.
• Lead the annual statutory audit process and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks within accounting.
• Act as the primary contact for internal, Head Office and second‑line assurance audits.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, controls and reporting.

Required profile

• Native‑level Mandarin (spoken and written) and fluent English.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant accounting experience within banking or financial services.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams at a senior level.
