Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a busy precision‑engineering manufacturing team. Working across two sites, you will maintain a variety of equipment, from CNC lathes to bespoke in‑house machinery, ensuring reliable production.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on production machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, supporting equipment reliability.
• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and production staff.
• Record all maintenance activities in the CMMS system.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Completed a time‑served apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years post‑apprenticeship maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
• Experience with manufacturing or production machinery, preferably CNC equipment.

Required skills

• CNC machinery operation and maintenance.
• Use of CMMS for work order tracking.
• Planned preventative maintenance techniques.
• Mechanical fault‑finding and troubleshooting.

What we offer

• Salary £27,500 – £36,500 (target £32,000) plus shift premium and overtime.
• Shift patterns: 6 am‑2 pm or 2 pm‑10 pm, Monday‑Friday.
