Mental Health Employment Coach

About the role

Coventry City Council's Skills, Employment & Adult Education Service is recruiting a Mental Health Employment Coach for its Connect to Work programme. The post is fixed term until 31 March 2027, aligned with a Government-backed programme, with potential for extension depending on funding and priorities. It is a person-centred role supporting residents with disabilities and complex barriers to employment to find meaningful work, training and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key worker managing a caseload of clients with diverse support needs.
• Build trusted relationships and co-create tailored job search plans.
• Deliver individual and group support sessions in community settings.
• Work with families, carers, employers and partner agencies.
• Coordinate interventions and monitor progress to ensure lasting impact.

Required profile

• Understanding of the challenges people with disabilities face in accessing work and training.
• Experience delivering support packages and group work.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered.
