Metadata Lead

About the role

Ageas is looking for an experienced Metadata Lead to own and evolve its enterprise metadata capability. You will shape how data is discovered, governed and trusted across the organisation, working closely with data owners, stewards and IT teams. This is a hybrid role based in Reigate (or Eastleigh) with occasional travel to Ageas offices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, own and deliver the end‑to‑end metadata roadmap.
• Lead configuration, rollout and value‑realisation for Collibra and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Use metadata tooling to enable data‑governance and data‑quality outcomes.
• Promote the purpose and value of metadata tools through forums, workshops and demos.
• Automate governance processes and support major data migration and integration programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading metadata initiatives and delivering measurable business value.
• Strong delivery leadership with a track record of executing roadmaps.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of data‑governance and data‑quality best practices.
• Experience coaching junior data‑governance and data‑quality stakeholders.

Required skills

• Collibra – advanced configuration, rollout and governance integration.
• Databricks Unity Catalog – strong knowledge of cataloguing and lineage.
• Data‑governance and data‑quality tooling expertise.
