Mid-Level Fashion Designer (Women’s Wear)

About the role

Varley is seeking a focused, passionate mid‑level Designer to join its Chesterfield studio. You will work closely with the Senior Designer to develop women’s apparel collections from concept through production, ensuring every detail aligns with the brand’s modern, confident aesthetic.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Designer in creating complete apparel collections.
• Mentor and assist Junior Designers.
• Produce detailed design packs and handover documentation for the Development Team.
• Attend fittings and collaborate with Development to maintain design integrity.
• Maintain collection overviews, performance reviews, and sourcing packs.
• Help manage the global calendar and meet deadlines.
• Assist in presenting seasonal collections to the Sales team.

Required profile

• Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
• 4+ years experience in women’s wear design.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabric performance.
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple projects.
• Collaborative team player with a passion for clothing.

Required skills

• Advanced Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced Adobe Photoshop.
