About the role
The NIHR Integrated Academic Training programme at the University of Leeds invites applications for a Clinical Lecturer post in Rheumatology. This four‑year, fixed‑term position combines high‑quality research with specialist clinical training, leading to full registration and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Rheumatology.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent research programme (50% of time), aligned with the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine.
- Undertake clinical rheumatology duties and specialist registrar training (50% of time) to achieve CCT.
- Prepare and submit grant applications with senior academic support.
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in rheumatology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across NHS Trust sites, including Chapel Allerton Hospital and St James’s Hospital.
Required profile
- PhD or MD fully awarded by the start date (must be submitted at application).
- Holder of a National Training Number (NTN) in higher specialty training, at least at ST4 level.
- Eligibility for a specialist registrar (or equivalent) grade contract.
- Commitment to split time equally between research and clinical training.
- Strong motivation for an academic career in rheumatology.
