People and Culture Committee Member

About the role

The People and Culture Committee Member will join a newly‑established sub‑committee of the Board of NFP People Limited, an international non‑profit working to stop violence and build sustainable peace. This is a voluntary, co‑opted position that provides independent expertise on people‑related strategy, helping the CEO, senior leadership and Board achieve their objectives around staff and volunteer development, organisational culture, DEI, safeguarding and non‑financial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Attend at least two committee meetings per year (online or in‑person) and prepare for discussions.
• Provide specialist advice on HR policy, diversity, equity, inclusion, decolonising, remuneration and safeguarding.
• Offer constructive challenge and independent perspective on people‑and‑culture matters.
• Review and comment on papers circulated before meetings, ensuring they are fair, inclusive and aligned with the mission.
• Support the Board in monitoring non‑financial (people‑related) risk.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in human resources, people and culture, DEI or related fields.
• Experience working with senior leadership or governance bodies, preferably in the non‑profit sector.
• Ability to work independently, think critically and communicate clearly.
• Commitment to the organisation’s mission of peacebuilding and to a voluntary three‑year term.
