People Manager

About the role

Chip is seeking an experienced People Manager to strengthen and mature the operational People foundations in a scaling regulated business. You will work closely with senior leadership, managers and the wider People team to provide credible guidance, support a positive employee experience and ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day People operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring strong and scalable foundations.
• Support and improve onboarding experiences so new starters are set up for success.
• Provide commercially aware People advice to managers, balancing legal compliance with business realities.
• Review, improve and maintain People policies, documentation and processes for a scaling company.
• Lead employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances and performance management.
• Partner with leadership on organisational changes, performance concerns and people‑related risk.

Required profile

• Highly practical, calm and confident handling of sensitive employee situations.
• Commercially minded, solutions‑focused and comfortable making judgement calls in ambiguity.
• Strong credibility with senior stakeholders and ability to influence.
• Resilient, positive and able to thrive under pressure.

Required skills

• 10‑15 years of generalist People experience, preferably in financial services or another regulated environment.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and employee‑relations processes.
• Experience managing complex ER cases from start to finish.
• Ability to mentor and develop People team members.

• Salary £60,000 – £65,000 per annum plus discretionary performance‑related bonus.
