People Relations Specialist – Part‑time (21 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate People Relations Specialist to join our People Relations and Wellbeing team on a 21‑hour‑per‑week, 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will help managers navigate complex employee matters, champion early resolution, and shape a modern, values‑led employee relations service across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex employee relations cases from start to finish, including grievance, disciplinary, capability and absence matters.
• Provide expert advice and coaching to managers, supporting early and effective resolution.
• Produce high‑quality case documentation, reports and correspondence.
• Support employment tribunal preparation when required.
• Contribute to the development of policies, toolkits and manager guidance.
• Assist in designing and delivering people‑management training.
• Champion wellbeing, inclusion and organisational values in every interaction.
• Analyse people relations data to identify trends and present findings to the strategic partnering team.
• Build collaborative relationships with recognised trade unions and colleague representative groups.

Required profile

• CIPD Level 3 qualification or higher.
• Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience coaching and influencing managers at all levels.
• Proven ability to produce management information and case documentation.
• Excellent written communication skills with a balanced, risk‑aware tone.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities to meet KPIs.
