Platform Architect

About the role

SiXworks is looking for an experienced Platform Architect to shape the strategic direction of its secure digital platforms. You will work at the intersection of architecture, platform engineering, and reliability to ensure that our solutions meet the high standards required for defence and national security missions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the platform architecture strategy, aligning it with business and technology goals.
• Design end‑to‑end platform solutions covering infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling.
• Establish architectural principles, patterns, and standards such as IaC, GitOps, and immutable infrastructure.
• Provide technical direction for CI/CD pipeline design, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Act as design authority, reviewing and approving architectural decisions to meet performance, scalability, security, and maintainability requirements.
• Lead design workshops, mentor platform engineers, and promote DevOps and SRE best practices.
• Embed secure‑by‑design principles, guide platform‑level security controls, and oversee vulnerability management and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in platform architecture and engineering for complex, security‑focused environments.
• Strong understanding of automation‑first approaches and modern infrastructure practices.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and security teams and influence technical decisions.
