Private Client Solicitor / Legal Executive

About the role

A regional firm of solicitors established in 1986, with offices in Hartlepool, Peterlee, Durham and Wingate, is looking for a Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in estate administration. The position is permanent, full-time or part-time, and covers fee-earning work such as wills, probate and trusts.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake fee-earning work including will drafting, probate and estate administration, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and Court of Protection matters.
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships.
• Keep files accurate, orderly and up to date in line with the firm's file management policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies, including Lexcel standards.

Required profile

• Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience of all aspects of private client work, in particular estate administration.
• At least 1 year of PQE in private client work within a working environment.
• Ability to run your own caseload from start to finish, with a proven track record of giving legal advice and assistance in private client matters.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, an organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail, and a polite, cheerful attitude with clients.
• Committed, self-motivated and able to work as part of a professional, friendly team.

Required skills

• Experience of using a case management system.
• Practical knowledge of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel.
