Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our client’s team in Orpington. You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering end‑to‑end procurement support across a variety of public‑sector projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies from inception through to contract award.
• Prepare complete procurement documentation, including specifications, pricing frameworks, KPIs and evaluation criteria, in collaboration with technical teams.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle in line with public‑sector regulations and internal governance.
• Lead supplier engagement activities such as market outreach, clarifications, tender communications and evaluation.
• Produce clear procurement reports, recommendations and audit trails to satisfy governance requirements.
• Facilitate client meetings, set agendas and ensure accurate minutes and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public‑sector procurement, with solid knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
• Track record of handling high‑value, complex procurement processes.
• Experience in consultancy or client‑facing procurement roles (desirable).
• Working towards a CIPS qualification (desirable).
• PRINCE2 or equivalent project‑management certification (desirable).

Required skills

• Understanding of public‑sector procurement regulations.
• Ability to draft procurement documentation and evaluation criteria.
• Experience with supplier engagement and tender evaluation.
• Strong report writing and audit‑trail creation.
