Product Manager II – Scholarly Communication Platform

About the role

Join Elsevier’s STMJ team to shape the future of scholarly communication by delivering product improvements for SSRN, the pre‑print server. You will work with cross‑functional teams to turn user and business needs into clear product requirements and data‑informed enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Write user stories and acceptance criteria for SSRN features, ensuring they are sprint‑ready.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, analytics and content teams to gather and document requirements.
• Produce analytics reports, interpret outputs and generate insights using AI‑supported tools.
• Maintain backlog hygiene through grooming, sequencing, labeling and prioritisation.
• Run or support sprint ceremonies and update progress in JIRA and Aha.
• Identify and prioritise production issues, supporting resolution with data.

Required profile

• Strong product thinking with understanding of technology platforms and data architecture.
• Ability to write clear user stories for complex features within an agile sprint methodology.
• Hands‑on experience in UX and design, preferably using Figma.
• Data‑driven approach to identify improvement areas, familiarity with tools such as Adobe Analytics, Hotjar and Pendo.
• Experience or willingness to work with AI tools and services for product delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
