About the role
We are looking for an Electrical/Electro‑Mechanical Project Engineer to join our aerospace systems manufacturing team in Slough. You will lead new product development from concept through delivery, ensuring projects meet time, cost and quality targets in a high‑precision environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering development projects aligned with company strategy and customer requirements.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities using structured engineering processes.
- Define project objectives, create detailed plans and oversee work packages to achieve key milestones.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, dashboards and progress reports.
- Design mechanical and electrical components using CATIA or similar CAD tools.
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement corrective actions.
- Apply design‑for‑manufacture, design‑to‑cost and design‑for‑inspection principles.
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve technical challenges.
- Support R&D initiatives and contribute to product concepts and technology road‑maps.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
- Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in project or design engineering within manufacturing or aerospace.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
- Excellent communication, organisational and multi‑tasking abilities.
Required skills
- CATIA (or equivalent CAD software).
- SolidWorks.
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Design for Manufacture.
- Design to Cost.
- Design for Inspection.
