Purchase Ledger Clerk – Accountancy Firm

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the finance team of a medium‑size accountancy firm that works with high‑profile media, creative, film and TV clients. Reporting to the Finance Partner, you will handle day‑to‑day financial transactions and provide client account services in a modern, forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Upload bank entries and perform bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile petty cash, company credit cards and client card payments.
• Process supplier invoices, maintain the purchase ledger and prepare payment runs.
• Prepare and upload payment files to the bank, ensuring proper authorisation.
• Perform monthly client account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with employee expense claims, management accounts and VAT returns.
• Support ad‑hoc finance tasks as required.

Required profile

• 1–2 years experience as a Finance Assistant or Purchase Ledger Clerk.
• Current experience in an accountancy practice (client‑facing) or in‑house finance role.
• Fast and accurate data‑processing skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• CCH software (experience beneficial).
