Purchase Ledger Clerk – Construction (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team at MCR Property Group’s Manchester head office. The role sits within the construction finance function, supporting project managers and ensuring accurate processing of invoices and supplier queries.

Key responsibilities

• Issue and manage purchase orders across multiple construction sites.
• Log, code, and match invoices to purchase orders using Sage 50.
• Process utility bills and prepare cheque payments.
• Maintain detailed records and audit trails in the management information system.
• Update and analyse Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting.
• Obtain invoice approvals and respond to supplier enquiries.
• Post transactions, remittances, and complete bank reconciliations for several companies.
• File documentation accurately and ensure records are fully reconciled.

Required profile

• Proven experience in high‑volume purchase ledger processing, preferably within the construction sector.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Experience collaborating with project managers and finance teams.
• Ability to maintain robust audit trails and accurate financial records.
