Residential Service Charge Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Residential Service Charge Accountant to join a dynamic residential property management company that works with leading UK developers. The role involves managing service charge accounts, budgets and client reporting for a diverse portfolio of residential blocks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit service charge year‑end accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments, reconciliations and void calculations, liaising with accountants and Property Managers.
• Manage the full budget demand process, ensuring demands are issued on time.
• Deliver client reports and arrange transfer of rental income.
• Provide information to support VAT submissions.
• Review and correct monthly expenditure with Property Managers.
• Support rent increase processes across AST, Affordable Rent and Shared Ownership.
• Circulate year‑end accounts to lease‑holders and issue Section 20b notices where required.
• Reconcile client bank accounts promptly and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Strong experience in residential block service charge accounting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle client and auditor queries.
• Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for continuous learning and long‑term growth.
