Roofers Mate – Full‑time in Croydon

About the role

Join Mears Group as a Roofers Mate and play a vital part in maintaining the safety and integrity of homes across Croydon. You will work on occupied and void properties, delivering a range of roofing repairs and installations as part of a dedicated maintenance team.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general roofing repairs, including tile, felt, and wooden battens replacement.
• Perform chimney repairs, replacements and associated flashing work.
• Install and repair flat roofs, felt and asphalt systems, as well as ridge, verge and hip tiles.
• Maintain gutters, downpipes, fascias, soffits and barge boards.
• Conduct roof insulation work to joists and rafters.
• Fit and service roof vents, eaves ventilation, ducting, rooflights and skylights.
• Support planned maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects while complying with health and safety regulations and the Decent Homes Standard.

Required profile

• Entitlement to work in the UK.
• Valid driving licence (over 21, held for at least 3 months, less than 9 points) for company vehicle use.
• Ability to pass background, identity and security checks.
