Scheme Transition Consultant – up to £90k

About the role

The Scheme Transition Consultant will join a leading insurer’s Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) business. This is a unique chance for an experienced DB pensions professional or project manager to move from a consultancy or TPA environment into an in‑house specialist role, overseeing the end‑to‑end transition of bulk annuity transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the onboarding and transition process for new bulk annuity business, managing delivery timelines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for trustees and clients, conducting transition meetings and handling queries.
• Oversee data migration, payroll funding setups, and data‑cleanse activities.
• Calculate scheme benefits in line with regulatory rules and hand over to actuarial and finance teams.
• Document client controls, perform regulatory checks, and drive continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of defined benefit (DB) pensions and administration, especially risk‑transfer and bulk annuity markets.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale pensions projects, implementations, or data‑cleanse exercises.
• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to work under pressure and build relationships across internal teams and TPAs.
