Science Teacher – Secondary Schools (Portsmouth)

About the role

Academics is building a pool of qualified Science Teachers for secondary schools in Portsmouth, with placements expected from September 2026. This role offers the chance to teach across KS3‑KS4 (and KS5 where available) in a supportive environment while you await permanent opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high‑quality Science lessons for KS3‑KS4 (and KS5 where applicable).
• Plan, prepare and assess curriculum in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or General Science.
• Support mixed‑ability learners and promote inclusive teaching practices.
• Contribute to department meetings and whole‑school initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent).
• Strong subject knowledge in at least one science specialism.
• Commitment to inclusive, engaging teaching.
• Willingness to participate in the wider school community.
