Science Technician – School Laboratory Support

About the role
Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking a Science Technician to support laboratory activities in schools across the Burnley area. You will work directly with teachers and pupils to ensure practical science lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and service laboratory equipment.
- Construct, modify and set up scientific apparatus.
- Prepare experiments and assist with classroom demonstrations.
- Order and manage laboratory resources.
- Provide technical assistance to pupils during practical lessons.
- Uphold health and safety standards and maintain a clean working environment.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a similar laboratory technician role.
- Recent experience working in a school or comparable educational setting.
- Hardworking, flexible and able to use initiative.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and ability to build good relationships with children and adults.
- Available for part‑time or full‑time work and able to travel locally.
