About the role
Join an Ofsted Outstanding Trust as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism. The position starts on a temporary basis in September with the prospect of becoming permanent, offering a rewarding environment for those passionate about specialist education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions for pupils with SEMH and Autism.
- Assist pupils in engaging positively with learning and overcoming barriers.
- Promote emotional wellbeing through consistent, supportive relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to deliver integrated support.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people who have SEMH, Autism, or additional learning needs (preferred but not mandatory).
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to each child's success.
- Graduates interested in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, or therapy are encouraged to apply.
