About the role
Academics is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support mainstream primary schools in Tewkesbury. The role offers flexible arrangements, from daily supply work to longer‑term placements, and is open to immediate start once background checks are completed.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and adapting activities.
- Monitor pupil progress, record observations, and communicate needs to staff.
- Help maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to individual education plans.
Required profile
- Experience working with children, preferably with SEN experience.
- Genuine passion for supporting pupil learning, development and wellbeing.
- Confidence and adaptability to work with a range of SEN needs and age groups.
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one).
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
