Senior Accountant – Insurance Broking

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a leading international insurance broker in London. The role provides extensive exposure to technical accounting, regulatory reporting and M&A activities, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and FCA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply accounting policies and financial reporting standards across the business.
• Implement new accounting and regulatory requirements, providing technical analysis and guidance.
• Support M&A transactions, including accounting treatment, integration and related reporting.
• Prepare technical accounting papers to underpin key judgments and decisions.
• Contribute to group and entity‑level reporting, including consolidated outputs.
• Deliver regulatory and financial reporting deliverables with accuracy and compliance.
• Strengthen financial controls and drive process improvements within Finance.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 1 year post‑qualification experience.
• Audit background, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FCA reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Experience handling complex financial data.
