Senior Acoustic Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a talented Senior Acoustic Consultant to join a leading consultancy team in London. The role is full‑time and hybrid, working on high‑profile projects across buildings, environment and transportation sectors throughout the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct baseline environmental noise and vibration surveys and benchmark testing of existing buildings.
• Apply standards such as BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228 and ProPG across projects.
• Prepare technical reports for planning and design, and carry out acoustic modelling using CADNA‑A and Odeon.
• Manage workload, oversee project delivery and prepare Environmental Impact Assessments for residential, road, bridge and industrial schemes.
• Lead site inspections, pre‑completion testing and liaise with architects and specialists to integrate acoustic requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Acoustics or related field, or IOA Diploma/Master’s degree.
• Full, valid driving licence and relevant acoustic consultancy experience.
• Track record of project delivery and workload management.
• Commitment to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and Associate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (working towards MIOA).

Required skills

• Proficiency with CADNA‑A software (Odeon experience advantageous).
• Acoustic modelling and noise/vibration survey techniques.
• Knowledge of BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228 and ProPG standards.
