Senior Contracts Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to provide strategic, commercially‑focused legal support across our client’s operational, sales, pre‑sales, procurement and senior management teams. You will ensure the business operates within a robust legal framework while driving revenue enablement, risk mitigation and operational efficiency through best‑in‑class contracting practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the provision of clear, strategic, and commercially‑minded advice on complex contract terms, legal matters and business risk.
• Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of high‑value agreements, including supplier and customer contracts, software licences, SaaS, agency, reseller and service provision arrangements.
• Act as primary point of contact for negotiations with customers and suppliers, aligning outcomes with business objectives, policies and risk appetite.
• Oversee and continuously improve Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), including registers, obligation tracking, renewals, amendments and system optimisation.
• Provide senior escalation support for onboarding, contractual disputes, claims and legal risk matters.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, assess impact and recommend actions, including data protection compliance.
• Engage and manage external legal counsel within agreed budgets, including cross‑border and specialist matters.
• Govern the suite of legal templates, ensuring they remain current, commercially appropriate and legally sound.
• Identify and implement process improvements, legal technology and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Deliver data‑driven reporting and insights on legal risk, workload and contract performance to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex contract negotiations and providing commercial legal advice.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience managing external counsel and overseeing multi‑jurisdictional legal matters.
• Demonstrated capability to coach and develop junior members of a contracts team.
