Senior Estate Services Operative – Caretaker

About the role

Raven Housing Trust is seeking a Senior Estate Services Operative – Caretaker to join its estate services team in the Croydon and Brighton area. This full‑time, site‑based position offers the chance to improve living conditions for residents while developing a rewarding career in housing maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular estate inspections, ensuring communal areas are safe, clean and well‑maintained.
• Undertake basic maintenance tasks and report any complex repairs.
• Support the management of anti‑social behaviour, environmental nuisance and fly‑tipping incidents.
• Maintain a visible presence on estates, addressing resident concerns and reporting safety issues.
• Engage with residents, promote community initiatives and signpost to relevant services.
• Liaise with internal teams and external partners to coordinate actions and deliver effective service.

Required profile

• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and solve problems effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to follow issues through to resolution.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessment procedures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT inspection and reporting systems.
