Senior Finance Systems Manager – Aderant (London)

About the role

A leading London‑based law firm is seeking a Senior Finance Systems Manager to lead its Aderant Practice and Finance Management System. This is an initial 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering the chance to shape technology strategy in a legal finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, oversee, maintain and enhance the firm’s Aderant finance and practice management system.
• Define and drive the strategic vision for the PMS, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Manage delivery of system upgrades, migrations and major implementations, controlling timelines, resources and stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Legal Operations and external partners to deliver robust, innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years’ experience managing financial systems within a law firm.
• Proven expertise with Aderant (Aderant Expert) and experience leading system implementations, migrations or major upgrades.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and legal finance operations.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience leading a team and knowledge of both on‑premise and cloud‑hosted applications.
