Senior Legal Counsel – 6 Month Fixed-Term in London

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our London legal team on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide commercial and litigation support for a global leader in the maritime and marine services sector.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, tenders and template subcontracting agreements.
• Oversee and manage material litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide compliance advice and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations and senior management.
• Support the company’s global services operations with timely legal guidance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in an in‑house legal role.
• Strong background in commercial contracts and exposure to litigation management.
• Qualified to practice in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g., Australia, New Zealand).
• Experience in shipping, marine services, logistics or agency environments is advantageous but not essential.
• Available to start immediately or on short notice and able to work three days per week onsite in London.
