Senior Principal – Tax Controversy (EMEA)

About the role

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Principal to lead its Tax Controversy team for the EMEA region. You will shape global audit strategy, manage high‑profile tax disputes, and collaborate with tax, legal, and policy teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and co‑lead significant EMEA tax litigation cases, including administrative appeals and court proceedings.
• Serve as primary contact for external counsel, government officials, and regulators in ongoing disputes.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive responses to tax authority information requests.
• Analyze audit strategies, dispute resolution options, and their business implications.
• Work cross‑functionally to keep the business informed of audit risks and to strengthen tax positions.

Required profile

• Law degree with extensive experience in tax audit and litigation.
• Proven track record managing complex tax disputes in the EMEA region.
• Strong ability to synthesize technical tax issues and company facts.

Required skills

• Expertise in tax controversy, audit, and litigation processes.
• Experience coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of jurisdiction‑specific tax litigation risks and compliance requirements.
