Senior SAP S/4HANA Tax Consultant – Indirect & Direct Tax

About the role

This senior position supports a global ERP transformation to SAP S/4HANA, acting as the tax subject‑matter expert for both indirect and direct tax. You will design, configure and validate tax processes that ensure compliance and scalability across the new system.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design of SAP S/4HANA tax processes for indirect and direct tax.
• Gather requirements, document traceability, and produce solution recommendations.
• Configure SAP, manage extensions, integrations and workflow customisations.
• Collaborate with external system integrators to meet programme milestones.
• Coordinate and support all testing phases – unit, SIT, UAT and regression.
• Assist data migration, cut‑over planning and hyper‑care activities.
• Ensure alignment with Finance, Operations, Marketing, MDM and related workstreams.
• Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies.
• Contribute to end‑user training preparation and delivery.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations for indirect and direct tax.
• Deep knowledge of excise regimes, tax engines, e‑invoicing and profit‑tax deductibility.
• Proven ability to work with external consultants in large‑scale ERP programmes.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Business Systems or related field; SAP certification is a plus.
