Senior System Engineer / DevOps

About the role

We are looking for a Senior System Engineer / DevOps Engineer to design, build and maintain medium to large‑scale infrastructures for a global financial market data provider. The role focuses on Linux‑based engineering, automation and virtualization to support real‑time development environments.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project planning sessions, analyse requirements and provide design recommendations for complex systems.
• Define and design project scope in collaboration with planning and technology architects.
• Develop application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces.
• Perform unit testing, firmware/OS upgrades, troubleshoot system issues and coordinate hardware replacements.
• Research emerging technologies and provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to development teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Linux, Windows, VMware and Solace systems engineer or DevOps role in an enterprise environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Linux RHEL 7.x/8.0, Windows Server 2008/2019.
• VMware vSphere 6.x/7.0, HPE Synergy, HPE DL360, HPE c7000 blade chassis.
• Solace PubSub+ and associated software.
• RAID storage, TCP/IP networking, SAN design and usage.
• Automation and orchestration tools (RunDeck, HPE OneView, Image Streamer, Composer).
• Cloud platforms: AWS EC2, Containers, CloudWatch, Kubernetes, Route53, Azure, GCP.
• Active Directory design and administration.
• Scripting/programming: Python, Perl, C, PHP, VBScript.
