Senior Systems & Project Accountant

About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, is looking for a Senior Systems & Project Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract within its Divisional Finance team. The role leads the division's project to rebuild OneStream and supports the month-end close and forecasting cycles for the Specialty and Reinsurance divisions. The successful candidate will report to the heads of Specialty/Reinsurance Finance and FP&A teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define UAT testing and the users/entities involved, supporting Sprint UAT, E2E UAT and business acceptance testing
• Coordinate testing, bug triage and fix validation for the OneStream rebuild project, including re-testing
• Support the division's subsidiary finance teams with reporting queries in OneStream during the move to the new cube and application
• Improve and streamline month-end close procedures and forecast cycles
• Work with FP&A teams to improve budgeting and reporting, such as headcount data recording and reporting
• Collaborate with subsidiary division accounting and FP&A teams (UK and overseas), the Group finance team and the Group Shared Service Centre

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience
• Self-starter with good communication skills, able to report progress to senior leadership (CFO/FD level)
• Mid-to-large group experience; financial services experience desirable but not essential
• Able to multitask under competing deadlines and to train others quickly on systems and processes
• Flexible on place of work, with travel to the Milton Keynes office two or three times a week and occasional travel to the London office

Required skills

• OneStream or a similar financial consolidation system (desirable)
• Understanding of integrating data from systems such as Workday into OneStream
• Strong Excel skills
• Numeracy and technical skill in accounting systems and data manipulation
