Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, AI Tooling

About the role

The Developer Platform team builds internal tools and platforms that boost engineering velocity, quality, and experience. You will own end‑to‑end architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and drive AI‑assisted development across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship developer platforms, CI/CD systems, observability and testing infrastructure.
• Lead multi‑quarter projects, break down complex problems, and define success criteria.
• Partner with leadership to shape roadmap, technical strategy, and operational health of systems.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and embed best technical practices.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2‑3 years at senior or staff level.
• Proven track record building and operating developer platforms that improve velocity.
• Experience leading AI‑powered tooling adoption across an engineering organization.
• Background in high‑performing scale‑up or established engineering teams.
