SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant – Temp to Perm

About the role
This position supports primary and secondary pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in a specialist school. You will work in a nurturing, structured environment that combines academic learning with therapeutic support, helping students re‑engage with education and build confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups.
- Help pupils engage with learning and manage behaviour positively.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Work as part of a close‑knit, supportive team.
- Contribute to a structured, therapeutic environment.
Required profile
- Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs.
- Resilient, patient and empathetic.
- Genuine interest in building a career in SEN education.
- Committed to making a long‑term impact.
