Service Manager – Social Care (Hybrid, 18‑month FTC)

About the role

We are looking for a Service Manager to lead the Social Care procurement team on an 18‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. Based in Paisley with a hybrid working model, you will sit at the heart of Scotland Excel’s Strategic Commissioning Team, shaping the future of social care contracting across Scotland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to a team of experienced commissioning professionals.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for high‑value social care contracts.
• Oversee end‑to‑end procurement processes, ensuring best value and commercial rigour.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, providers and other key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement, monitor provider performance and manage contract risk.

Required profile

• Business‑related degree or equivalent qualification.
• Significant public‑sector procurement experience.
• Proven senior management experience with strong commercial aptitude.
• Ability to work confidently with complex service budgets and multi‑disciplinary teams.
