Sous Pizza Chef – Neapolitan Pizza Specialist

About the role

Rudy's Pizza in York is looking for an experienced Sous Pizza Chef to support the kitchen team and help deliver authentic Neapolitan pizza every service. You will work side‑by‑side with the Head Pizzaiolo, ensuring the dough, toppings and oven performance meet the brand’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and stretch Neapolitan dough according to proven recipes.
• Operate high‑temperature pizza ovens and monitor bake times.
• Assist the Head Pizzaiolo in managing the pizza line during busy periods.
• Maintain a clean, organised workstation and adhere to food‑safety standards.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on dough handling and oven techniques.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with Neapolitan dough and pizza ovens.
• Strong knowledge of dough fermentation, hydration and high‑heat cooking.
• Passion for authentic Italian pizza and traditional preparation methods.
• Team‑player who thrives in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to grow within the Rudy’s Famiglia.
