Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Bath

About the role

This position supports pupils with complex physical, medical and behavioural needs in schools across Bath and surrounding areas. It is a school‑based role working during term‑time hours, ideal for candidates with a background in social or residential care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pupils with additional needs during lessons and throughout the school day.
• Provide personal care, mobility assistance and support for physical disabilities.
• Help students stay focused, engaged and motivated in their learning.
• Promote inclusion, independence and emotional well‑being.
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver consistent support.

Required profile

• Experience as a social care worker, support worker or in a residential care setting.
• Comfortable delivering personal care and supporting physical needs.
• Calm, compassionate and adaptable approach.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Passion for helping pupils achieve their potential.
