SQL & Python Developer – Business Intelligence

About the role

The SQL/Python Developer will join KBR's Estates Intelligence Business Intelligence team, reporting to the Lead Developer. The role focuses on building and maintaining a reporting data warehouse, creating Power BI datasets, and developing machine‑learning models within the Microsoft Fabric environment to deliver data‑driven insights for estates and facilities management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop machine‑learning algorithms in the Fabric Notebooks environment.
• Write SQL queries, stored procedures and views for data transformation and loading.
• Create Power BI datasets, DAX measures and calculation logic to meet reporting requirements.
• Configure refresh schedules, gateway connections and manage Dev/Test/Prod deployments.
• Perform testing, tune model performance, validate data accuracy and document test results.
• Prepare release notes, update technical documentation and promote changes following governance.
• Monitor daily pipeline runs, resolve failures and support root‑cause analysis.
• Identify and suggest enhancements for efficiency, scalability and adoption of new Power BI/Fabric features.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of SQL using tools such as SSMS or Visual Studio.
• Experience with data‑warehouse concepts and ETL processes.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and machine‑learning tasks.
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI, DAX and Microsoft Fabric.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow structured development and release processes.
