Tax Investigations Manager

About the role

We are partnering with leading professional services and accountancy firms in London to recruit an experienced Tax Investigations Manager. You will join a dynamic Tax Disputes and Investigations team, advising a diverse client base on high‑value HMRC enquiries and guiding matters from initial enquiry through to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex HMRC investigations, enquiries and tax dispute matters.
• Advise clients on investigation strategy, disclosures and settlement negotiations.
• Prepare technical submissions, reports and correspondence for senior stakeholders.
• Build trusted client relationships and act as the primary point of contact.
• Support Partners and Directors on complex tax controversy engagements.
• Review technical work and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the tax investigations practice.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax investigations, tax disputes, tax controversy or HMRC enquiries.
• ACA, ACCA, CTA qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong technical knowledge applied in a commercial environment.
• Experience managing complex client engagements and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication and ability to mentor junior colleagues.
